As one of the longest-running Northwest premier arts events, the Edmonds Arts Festival is a three-day event that celebrates the arts in our community. Scenic downtown Edmonds, just 15 miles north of Seattle and overlooking Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains, gives patrons a beautiful setting to view and acquire original works of fine art and crafts.

More than 160 artists sell their original creations.

There is art for everyone’s taste. The Edmonds Arts Festival attracts more than 240 artists from across the nation and Canada who bring their unique, one-of-a-kind art objects to enjoy and purchase. Types of art include ceramics, glass, painting and pastels, jewelry, metal, mixed media, photography, sculpture, garden art, clothing, foodstuff, crafts, and more. Setting up shop in tented booths, artists represent their own work during the Festival and are happy to answer questions and discuss how they create their art with Festival patrons. Everyone is sure to find some art they can’t live without!

View and purchase award-winning art.

View award-winning art inside the Anderson Center where three galleries showcase juried fine art from more than 200 area artists. Shown are paintings, prints, drawings, photography, sculpture, and three dimensional artworks. Juried by professional artists, only the highest quality art is selected to be displayed, whether it is produced by an established artist, student, or emerging artist. Awards are given to the highest ranked art pieces in each media category and the prize winning pieces are acknowledged in each gallery. All art inside the galleries is offered for sale.

Celebrating a new generation of artists.

A key element of the Edmonds Arts Festival’s mission is to promote exposure to art and art education to the youth in our community. Partnering with the Edmonds School District, the Festival is one of the pioneer events in the United States that displays more than 1,000 pieces of art from K-12 students. The 2016 gallery showcased art from 32 Edmonds School District schools, seven private schools and individual Home-schooled students residing within the boundaries of the Edmonds School District. Awards of excellence were proudly sponsored by the Port of Edmonds.

This year we are especially proud to announce that my son, Tyler Fox, will have his artwork displayed at the festival for Meadowdale High School.

Performing Arts

For years, the Festival has entertained visitors with a wide variety of music, dance, and theater performances. The main venue for these performances is an amphitheater which features traditional seating and a large grassy area perfect for sharing a blanket while listening. This large open-air theater hosts the top professional, community, and school performers in our region. From rock and roll, to country western, jazz, and classical music, the variety and high-quality performances receive enthusiastic reviews.

Plaza Artists: Visit the Edmonds Plaza Stage to enjoy smaller scale performances in an intimate park-like setting. Here music begins at the top of each hour. Friday’s line-up highlights the Seasoned Seniors of the Edmonds Waterfront Center, Saturday features original music from Edmonds’ Singer-Songwriters, and Sunday promises a little something for everyone. There is both covered and open-air seating with plenty of chairs so visitors can sit back, relax, and enjoy.

Traditional festival food, ethnic specialties, or healthy selections will tempt you to sample the food choices at the Edmonds Arts Festival. We offer more than 20 food and drink vendors located throughout the Festival grounds so you can get a bite of something good whenever you are in the mood. We strive to select vendors who are local and use healthy food products. One of Edmonds’ popular restaurateurs will provide wine, beer, and snacks in the Grotto area located on the outdoor Plaza level of the Festival grounds. Take the opportunity to try some of our great food during Festival weekend.

The 2018 Festival will showcase a fresh combination of new food vendors and those returning by popular demand at various locations throughout the Festival grounds. This year we are showcasing food trucks offering up a variety of tantalizing foods that include gluten-free and vegan choices.

Kids Create provides children with guided art enrichment activities and hands-on experiences, and is led and supervised by a group of volunteers. Your kids will leave with a finished art project they can proudly display at home, and the face painters always delight both kids and parents.
